More random makes – hair clips and a necklace

Most things I’ve managed to finish recently are hair clips. I have some other things in the works, but they aren’t ready to show off yet! (I’ve been so busy…)

I’ll quickly talk through the basic materials I used for each one as they follow the same building process – You make two ribbon loops and add some embellishments if needed.

This one used a mixture of burgundy red ribbons of different widths and a black lace trim. I wear this on the back of my head.

This one uses a single piece of white polka dot ribbon and black lace trim. It’s small so worn on the side of the head.

This one uses wide light purple and pink ribbons, with a light purple polka dot ribbon. This can be worn anywhere but it’s quite big!

This one uses red satin and organza ribbon, with long trails of thin red ribbon. It’s worn on the back.

As a bonus, I got some black and gold belts recently, so I made a gold chain with black beads to go with it.

Materials for the hair clips:
– matching assorted ribbon sets
– barrette clips
– alligator clips

Tools needed:
– hot glue gun
– lighter

Materials for the necklace:
– gold and black beads
– gold chain
– brass end pins and wire

Tools needed:
– jewellery pliers
– wire cutters
