Lapis lazuli contains pyrite, which is known as “fool’s gold” since it tricked many people into thinking it was real gold, so its characteristic is the flecks of gold scattered in this deep blue stone. Continuing with the gold them, I thought it best to wrap it in brass wire. However I have seen lapis lazuli in copper wire, which looks just as nice. 🙂
